Bingo Giving In The Metro
An avid bingo player like me who has spent many an hour at many different online brands will know how odd the title of this piece is. ‘Bingo Giving in the Metro’ – to Joe Public this would not seem odd but for me it makes me wonder why a paper with its own bingo site is giving a rival free advertising! Let me try and explain – The Metro, as you are probably aware, is a free publication that you can usually get on public transport around the UK. The Metro also has its own bingo brand yet yesterday they had a spread about Bingo Giving.
Ok so the piece was a little newsworthy, dinner with Kerry Katona is the prize in the latest promotion from Bingo Giving, but it still left me a little puzzled especially considering the piece in the Metro contained the full site URL!
According to the piece Kerry has teamed up with Bingo Giving in order to help raise money for “Save The Family”, her favourite charity. Now this makes perfect sense because Bingo Giving donate 10% of the sites net bingo wins to charity each and every week.
So for you the player there is the chance to win dinner with Kerry Katona and £500 to spend in Selfridges, for Kerry there is the opportunity to raise more money for her charity and for www.bingogiving.com there is a little free ad space on the Metro. It would seem that there are winners all round in this story – oh except Metro Bingo.
