Top Ten Bingo Background And History

A far a s we are aware, the Top Ten was also known as Walkers Bingo and Social club, and the building had passed through many hands over the century. It started out as the Cosy Cinema which opened in 1912 and, and as the name implies, with a seating capacity of 700 was not one of the larger theatres of the day, although with two other theatres for competition in Goole it was probably a risk to build anything larger.

Later known as the Picture Palace, and then the Carlton, which closed in 1979, this is where our knowledge reaches a dead end.
