Palace Bingo Background And History

The club originally opened as the Palace Cinema in 1936, a small venue with seating for 700. It was designed by architect Sydney Colwyn Foulkes, and received an award for ‘Cinema of the Year’ which is remarkable considering it was a refurbishment of a Georgian house.

The venue also hosted live entertainment until its closure in the 1980s. Palace Bingo took then over, closing in early 2013, although we’re not sure what lead to its demise.

We don’t currently have any information on the closure of this club, but if you do and would like to share it with us, please contact us here.

Date Of Club Closure: Early 2013
