Yahoo Bingo Review
Yahoo is a name well know on the internet and their offering of our favourite games, Yahoo Bingo, doesn’t appear to let the brand down from first impressions given by the homepage. A flash animation greets you with all kinds of details from this brand – the welcome bonus, details of the casino style games available and a little insight to the promotions available from the brand. In January 2010 Yahoo Games changed the software provider to G2 Gtech which bought about a vast improvement in the bingo variants available at their site; previously only 90 ball bingo was on offer but now players can enjoy 75 ball pattern and multi-line alongside the traditional 90 ball bingo game. 80 ball bingo arrived at Yahoo Bingo and other St Minver sites in October 2011.
Unlike at many other brands Yahoo Bingo does not require your financial details during the registration process; the usual information like name, address, DOB etc are required to complete the sign up. Yahoo Games offer £1 free to all their new players BUT you must check that your email address is valid as you will need to authorise your new account through a web link sent to your email. If it doesn’t show in your inbox then check Spam/Trash because that is where we found ours. Prior to validating your account through the link in your email your bonus account will show just 10p, however when you click the link and login again you will have £1 free as promised.
As soon as you login to your account you are taken to the bingo lobby where you can see details of all the rooms that are open. Here you can seem the time until the next game, players in the room, prize pot on offer and the big jackpot available to win. The lobby is split into three sections; 90 ball, 75 ball and Featured Games with seven different tabs across the top of the screen. Here you can choose bingo, slots, scratchcards, progressives, casino games, arcade games or simply view ‘all games’.
Taking a trip into the Bingo Cafe at Yahoo Bingo we found that using Firefox the page took quite a while to open, at least a couple of minutes.Switching to Internet Explorer didn’t speed it up that much more and could be enough to put players off when you instantly access many other rooms on other sites. Once in the room you find the layout is pretty much the same as with other brands online – bingo tickets to the right of the screen, chat to the left, mini games above chat and the bingo board above the tickets. Chat hosts are not always available in all rooms but it would appear that the Bingo Cafe is pretty much manned 24/7 and we were extended a warm welcome by CM_Willy.
Each of the rooms available have jackpots available and winning them is done dependent on the room you are playing in and the number of calls required to bingo and scoop the jackpot on offer. For example: In Bingo Cafe the progressive jackpot is called the Snowball and can be won by winning bingo in 40 numbers or less.
Promotions at Yahoo Bingo are varied and there is always some special offer or another available from this brand which gives it an edge over some of the other sites available to choose from online. All in all this is a decent site that has a couple of technical issues to address.
Pros
£1 free to try the site, financial details not required at registration, improved software, multi-line 75 ball available
Cons
Rooms take too long to load, chat hosts not available in all rooms, Bingo Studio Live, high wagering requirements
