XBingo is the latest brand to launch from the Mandalay Media company and whilst that name may not be overly familiar with you, their bingo sites will be. The company have already bought us City, Costa, Fancy and Sing Bingo so they are well versed in all things only bingo. What makes XBingo different is that unlike the other brands from this company, the games are not powered by the 888/Cassava/Globacom software. The software used at XBingo is completely proprietary and is currently not used at any other brands online at the moment. That’s not to say that this won’t change and we could well see other brands from Mandalay Media launch at a later date using the same software.
When you land on the homepage of XBingo it has a distinctly "out of this world feel". The mascot appears to be a fairy or elf whilst dotted around are a selection of white bodied, blue headed little people. The welcome bonus is the first thing that jumps out at you but like many of the brands from this group is subject to change on a regular basis. Registration to XBingo is slightly different to the standard sign-up process you may be used to with no requirements for financial details or even your address in the first instance. However at the second stage you are required to enter these details in order to claim any free welcome bonus on offer. You can choose to skip this section but you will forfeit any no deposit required bonus XBingo may have to offer. You are also able to choose an avatar as you complete the registration process. XBingo only offer credit and debit cards as depositing options but a definite plus is that Paypal is available at this site.
Once you have completed the registration at XBingo you simply need to visit the bingo lobby to get started. Unfortunately, only two of the main bingo rooms are open to unfunded players BUT in the free bingo section there is a no cost room open to "new players". Most games at XBingo cost as little as 5p per ticket and in our time there we did not see any higher priced games, that is not to say that they are not available. When you are in a bingo room you’ll notice instantly that this is not a software that you have used before; the rooms are laid out similarly to other brands but the cards, chat room and purchasing options are more than a little different yet not so much so that it is difficult to fathom.
On the surface XBingo looks like it ticks all the right boxes but we weren’t overly impressed that bonus money could not used to buy into the seven weekly guaranteed jackpot games that the brand has to offer. Bonus money can only be used to buy standard bingo tickets however we were able to purchase tickets for the promotional game that was available at the time of the review (10p a ticket for a chance to see Rhianna with three guests in December 2012 – game on 28th August 2011).
Free bingo is also available to players at XBingo but most have restricted access! New players – as the name suggests, only open to new players, First Depositors – only open for 48 hours after you have made your first deposit, Xtra Free – open only if you have made a deposit within the last 14 days and Re-Loaders – only open to players who have made a re-deposit.
With so many bingo sites launching all pretty much offering the same thing just with a different front page it’s really great to see XBingo bring something new and exciting to the world of online bingo.
