Mail Bingo Review
As of 17th November 2011 Mail Bingo stopped accepting new players to the site. The review below is for information purposes only.
In comparison with many online bingo brands Mail Bingo doesn’t have the most appealing of home pages to be honest. The logo is pretty bland and whilst there is a funky flash animation, it lacks the clarity that you can find at other sites. Mail Bingo is part of the huge St Minver network powered by the G2 Gtech software so the whole gaming experience from start to finish is one that you may have come across elsewhere in your travels around the world of bingo online.
The registration process requires less information than most sites but starts with you choosing a username for your Mail Bingo account. The site even offers you a "check availabilty" function so that you don’t go all through the process only to find your chosen bingo name is already in use by another player.
Other than that they require your real name and date of birth and you’re good to go! Mail Bingo offers all new players a £1 no deposit required welcome bonus but only 10p appears in your Bonus Money account until you click the validation link in the email that you are sent. Once this has been done the full amount appears in your account.
As soon as registration is complete you are taken to the bingo lobby where you will see all of the rooms available to play in at Mail Bingo; there are a number of rooms to choose from all offering 75 ball and 90 ball games. We found that the rooms took quite a while to load up, longer than most instant play online bingo rooms. The 75 ball games on offer are not your standard pattern bingo games but the more impressive multi-line games that give you five chances to win. However you will find pattern bingo in some rooms; Bingo Party Live (although no presenters online at the time of the review) was playing pattern bingo when we were reviewing the site. 80 ball bingo was launched after the Summer of 2011.
Once you are in a bingo game room you will find the layout is the same as with any St Minver brand; your bingo tickets are to the right of the screen with the call board above the game, chat is to the left but you won’t find any side games in the rooms. These are accessible from the main lobby. When purchasing tickets you have a quick buy option in multiples of six or a +/- button to choose the number of tickets you wish to buy. Alternatively you can choose your tickets by clicking on the ones you wish to purchase. At the top of your screen you will see your current balance, number of tickets in the game, stake placed and any winnings derived from the game. When the game is in play a screen appears above your chat to let you know how close you and others are to bingo; an interesting feature that shows what number a player is waiting for when the get down to one number to bingo.
Everything seems a little "cramped" at Mail Bingo, even when you maximise the screen the game pretty much stays the same size you simply have more "white space" around your room. This could be because of the browsers, we compiled the review in Firefox rather than IE.
Promotions at Mail Bingo aren’t too shabby and they do offer a selection of bargain bingo games, guaranteed jackpots and an array of "specials" each and every month but if you’ve played at other St Minver brands then the likelihood is that you may well have seen it all before.
Pros
Trusted network, plenty of bingo rooms, variety of side games, easy registration process, player information regards to bingo calls required to win.
Cons
Bingo rooms take a while to load, promotions standard to the network, time between games a bit too long.
