Banned By Cassava – Action Plan

Play Film Bingo!

On this page you can find out about the actions you can take to get money withheld to you by Cassava in the case of an unfair ban, and the actions we’re taking to publicise this behaviour.

Getting Your Money Back

As we’ve seen at the Your Stories page, Cassava are very good at finding excuses to ban your account when you have built up a big win, or regularly win and withdraw money from the site. If you’ve found yourself on the end of one of these bans, and they still owe you prize money – our experiences have shown that people can get their rightfully won money out of Cassava by being persistent about getting it.

Here’s what we suggest you do – contact details for all of the following are below:

  • Remain polite but firm and persistent. Persistence seems to pay off, especially if you tell them you will be complaining through legal channels.
  • Complain to GRA and the Gambling Commissioner at Gibraltar.
  • Complain to the UK Gambling Commission. They are powerless but if they know this is going on they might get off their behinds to do something about it.
  • If you feel you have been falsely advertised too, you can complain to the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority.
  • Contact the BBC’s Watchdog programme and tell them – if enough of us do they may take notice and help shame Cassava into better behaviour.
  • You can write to your MP to complain about current gaming legislation, that allows these sort of sites to operate freely with UK players.
  • Keep complaining to Cassava – pointing out you won the money fair and square. Let them know you have done the above.

We will be referring a number of media and regulatory bodies to this page for their information.
  • July 8th 2011 – Contacted both Watchdog and The Ferret on behalf of those featured here who’ve been banned.
  • Next steps: Open letter to the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority and Gambling Commissioner about their inability, unwillingness to confront this behaviour and challenge it.
  • Stay tuned for more.

I have today had all of my Cassava ran bingo accounts blocked, owing me in total nearly £300. I have emailed them but have only had the automated response so far. It is disgusting that whilst I was willing to deposit and then if I did win, mostly cancel the withdrawal and the money went back on the site, they are happy for my accounts to run & to take my money. Since I started actually withdrawing my winnings, they have now blocked me.
How do I get my moeny that is rightfully mine?
