La Scala Bingo Background And History
We don’t currently have any information on the closure of this club, but if you do and would like to share it with us, please contact us here.
What we do know about the building’s history is that it was built in 1913 and was designed by Leonard Clegg. The cinema closed in 1957, and from then until 1987 it served as an entertainment venue. We are not sure what happened after 1987, only that it re-opened as a bingo hall, which then closed in 2006.
Date Of Club Closure: 2006

I am trying to trace “Jock ” Campbell who I believe worked at the Scala in the 40′s on Saturday afternoons. Hoping you may be able to help. Thanks in anticipation. Sue
