Astro Bingo Promotions
Whenever we add another review here at Bingo.VG we always like to follow up with a little something about the promotions available at the newly listed site. Often we find some pretty impressive offers at the brands in question but sadly this was not the case when taking a look at the Astro Bingo promotions.
Now this could be attributed to the fact that we weren’t enthralled by certain aspects of Astro Bingo when we reviewed the site; most obviously the amount creamed of the top of ticket sales and not put into the prize pot. However when you take a look at an example of a promotion from Astro Bingo you’ll see it’s more of a case that they are just poor in comparison with other brands!
What’s even more frustrating about the Astro Bingo promotions is actually trying to understand what the hell is going on! To our mind all promotional material should be written for the new player landing at your site; imagine they have never played there and provide all promotional material in layman’s terms! We are, well we like to think we are, bigno experts; we have visited many online bingo sites and have read a promotional page but we had a real issue with the following promotion from Astro Bingo (the text is a direct cut and paste from their pages):

To help get you starrrrted, here be some bits fer ye to keep in mind: “Ahoy!” = Hello; “Aye” = Yes; “Yarrr” or “Arrrr” = anything, but put your hearrrrt into it! There’s lots more you can use, but the simplest rule of thumb is to just generrrrally roll your Rrrrrs and you’ll soon be talking like a pirate!
Challenge games award you £5 bonus every time you complete the challenge! As soon as you’ve won both the Crossbones and X Marks the Spot games (on any part or as a consolation prize) you’ll be awarded the Pirate’s Life badge, £5 bonus, and entry into our weekly Challenge Tournament.
Challenge games play twice an hour every day, from 6am to 1am BST in Lucky Streak and Money Tree.
So we ask “What are Crossbones and X Mark the spot games?”. We would presume these are special patterns but from visiting the site Money Tree is 90 ball and Lucky Streak 75 ball – so can’t be that? So, at this point we give up and put www.astrobingo.co.uk in the category “really can’t be bothered”.
